Impact Education

Based on a company’s CSR goals, we create customized short courses for senior leadership and managers on how to apply best practices. This training includes the core components of designing and learning from impact evaluations. The ideal training consists of a two-day summit for senior leaders. A single-day workshop is appropriate for those on the periphery of corporate social responsibility and would be less in-depth. A quarterly in-person or video conference follows the initial training.

1. How can impact evidence help you achieve your leadership goals?

Executives have objectives, but often lack the data about how best to fulfill them. When data do exist, it is challenging to prioritize or even make sense of it. In this training, Evaluasi experts teach leaders how to identify credible data-driven solutions, separating those from misleading information.

Evaluasi In Action:

Evaluasi trainers have worked with public and private sector clients, including international financial institutions in Washington, DC and mining companies in Peru, to change how impact evidence contributes to high level decision-making. This enabled clients to transform their organizational policy on key strategic issues.

2. How can a learning mindset strengthen your corporate culture?

Good evidence may appear threatening, because you might learn that business-as-usual may be wrong. But simply forestalling the bad news makes it harder to respond and adapt to changing tastes and market conditions, and leaves a company vulnerable to being passed by the competition. Building a rigorous learning agenda into your standard procedures means that you always know what is working and what does not move the needle, allowing leaders to prioritize accordingly.

Evaluasi In Action:

Working with a development policy organization, Evaluasi team members helped to lead a transformation in which personnel from the executive director to interns learned to incorporate evidence from rigorous impact evaluation for all major activities. This culture change helped to diversify revenue sources and assisted in a 40% increase in revenue the following years.

3. How can you do rigorous evaluation without significant disruptions to your company’s workflow?

Doing an impact evaluation sometimes seems like a major expense and distraction, and it need not be. Carefully targeted randomized controlled trials and natural experiments can be embedded in existing procedures, designed such that most employees and clients do not notice any difference. Using Evaluasi’s innovative software, these evaluations can be conducted alongside existing software workflows.

Evaluasi In Action:

Evaluasi team members conducted training for government officials in the UK so that they can carry out internal randomized controlled trials on an ongoing basis. This allowed officials to identify successful programs, which received increased funding, and eliminate failing programs.
