Evaluasi is a partnership of PhD-trained social scientists who work on corporate social responsibility, impact investing and philanthropy, conducting operations in more than a dozen countries.

Dr. Mike Findley pioneers evidence-driven solutions to the world’s most pressing development and security challenges. He turns rigorous research into policy change that improves governance, peace, and economic opportunity. Beyond Evaluasi, Dr. Findley is the Erwin Centennial Professor of Government, Business, & Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Dan Nielson has worked for three decades on social responsibility around the world in poverty relief, environmental stewardship, and good governance. He specializes in randomized evaluation and has assessed scores of programs in Africa, Latin America, and South Asia. His findings have guided policy choices at international organizations, leading private foundations, and governments in Europe and North America. Aside from Evaluasi, Dr. Nielson works as Professor of Government at University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Renard Sexton is an expert on efficient, scalable evaluation with 15 years experience evaluating interventions and policies across the world. He is trained in econometrics, randomized and natural experiments, statistical programming and field-based methods, and has applied these techniques in more than two dozen countries. Outside his work with Evaluasi, Dr. Sexton serves as an Associate Professor at Emory University.

Dr. Mai Nguyen is a data scientist who specializes in social science-based software tools, meta-analysis, and making data legible and user-friendly. She has extensive experience in data journalism, tech, and academia, having worked at FiveThirtyEight, Emory University, Giant Oak, and Google. Outside of Evaluasi, she enjoys boxing, baking and board gaming.

Dr. Scott Findley is an expert on behavioral analysis, behavioral finance, financial literacy and education, and retirement saving. He is trained in computational modeling, econometrics, cost-benefit analysis, and experimental methods, with nearly two decades of experience managing research in the United States and Europe. Outside of Evaluasi, Dr. Findley is professor of Economics and Finance at Utah State University. He is also Editor-in-Chief of Public Finance Review.

Dr. Michael Cowan is an evaluation and learning expert with more than a decade of experience managing complex research projects around the world in the areas of public health, nutrition, water and sanitation infrastructure, emergency and humanitarian response, democracy, rights, and governance development, countering violent extremism, rule of law, and conflict mitigation. He earned his doctorate of political science at the University of Maryland, where he specialized in research methodologies and civil conflict.

Cedric is Evaluasi’s Program Assistant and holds an MSc in Political Science from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-SP) in São Paulo, Brazil. He works on elections, political parties, and representative institutions in the developing world. A die-hard Bob Dylan fan, he can talk about The Lord of the Rings all day long.

Nichole is one of Evaluasi's Program Assistants. She received a BS in Political Science from Utah State University in 2024. Among other things, she enjoys 1950s-1970s music, backpacking, and singing.

Kathery is the Executive Assistant. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Keiser University in Fort Lauderdale. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Kathery enjoys tackling new challenges and thrives in collaborative environments where teamwork drives meaningful results. Outside of work, she is an avid reader who especially loves biographies and fiction, and she never turns down good chocolate.
